2. Your inputs and decisions
You are responsible for entering accurate measurements, choosing the correct shape and unit, and deciding how to use the result. Keep dimensions tied to the same physical area and confirm whether you are measuring a floor, wall, roof, lot, opening or another surface.
You are also responsible for checking plans, product coverage instructions, quotes, taxes, delivery charges, labor, local measurement standards and other details that a simple area formula cannot determine.
3. Estimates and limitations
- Square footage describes the geometric area represented by the dimensions entered; it does not determine official finished living area, usable floor area, sloped surface area, structural quantities or professional takeoff requirements by itself.
- The unit selector converts dimensions for the calculation, but the tool does not certify a measurement or correct an incorrectly chosen boundary, shape or unit.
- Material area is a planning estimate based on the waste factor you enter. It does not replace manufacturer coverage instructions, installer judgment or an order check.
- Estimated cost uses the price per square foot you enter and does not include labor, delivery, tax, fees, minimum order quantities or price changes.
- Displayed results are rounded for readability and should be checked against source measurements or professional plans when precision matters.
4. Acceptable use
- Do not use the site to process or distribute unlawful, infringing, harmful or deceptive content.
- Do not attempt to disrupt, overload, attack, scrape aggressively or interfere with the site or other visitors.
- Do not inject malicious scripts, bypass security controls or test the site in a way that harms its availability.
- Do not misrepresent AreaWise as affiliated with a property assessor, contractor, material manufacturer, real-estate platform or other professional service.
- Do not rely on the calculator as legal, appraisal, tax, engineering, construction or guaranteed project advice.
5. Availability and changes
We may update, pause or remove the calculator, explanatory content, scripts or calculation behavior at any time. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, compatibility with every browser or permanent access to any result shown in a temporary page session.
A future update may change supported shapes, units, input rules, formatting, interface states or privacy disclosures. Continued use after a change means you accept the revised Terms for future use.
6. Intellectual property
The original AreaWise site text, layout, interface organization, branding and code are owned by AreaWise or used with permission unless otherwise stated. You may not copy, resell, frame or present the site in a way that suggests a false relationship with AreaWise.
Your measurements, plans, project records and material assumptions remain your responsibility. A calculated result does not transfer rights in any source plan, property record, product documentation or third-party material.
7. External links and third-party services
The site may link to advertising documentation, browser references, measurement resources or policy pages. We do not control third-party websites, content, availability, pricing, privacy practices or security controls. A link does not guarantee endorsement, accuracy or compatibility. Review third-party terms before relying on an external service.
8. Disclaimers
