About AreaWise

AreaWise is a browser-based tool for turning room and surface measurements into a clear square footage, material coverage and cost estimate.

Why this square footage calculator exists

A room or project estimate often starts with a few simple measurements, but the arithmetic becomes less convenient when units are mixed, a floor plan has several sections, or material waste needs to be included. AreaWise exists to make that relationship visible and usable in one place.

The homepage is intentionally centered on the calculation. Choose the shape that matches the space, enter the dimensions you know, review the formula and use the result as a transparent starting point for a project plan, material estimate or measurement check.

What the homepage does

The current tool supports rectangles, squares, circles, triangles and trapezoids. You can add multiple areas for an L-shaped room or multi-room project, choose units for each dimension, use feet plus inches, and add an optional waste factor and price per square foot.

The calculator converts dimensions to feet internally before applying the selected shape formula. It does not store measurements on a server, certify official property area or replace product coverage instructions and professional measurement standards.

Who can use AreaWise

Homeowners, renters, contractors, installers, landscapers, students and property researchers can use the tool to organize measurements for rooms, floors, walls, patios, gardens, lots and other surfaces. It is also useful when comparing material options or checking the arithmetic in a project estimate.

The result is useful for geometric planning, not for certifying a property record or predicting the exact quantity and price of a real project. Surface shape, openings, slopes, product coverage, waste, labor and local standards can all change the final outcome.

A privacy-conscious calculation flow

The ordinary square footage calculation runs in your browser with client-side JavaScript. The page does not need an account, a calculation API or an upload queue, and it does not intentionally put the dimensions, units or calculated area into the URL or an analytics event.

This is a practical design boundary, not a promise about every browser or third-party service. Your browser, extensions, network provider and optional analytics or advertising products have their own behavior. The separate Privacy Policy explains the site's technical data, cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, Google products and support workflow.

What we care about

  • A working square footage calculator near the top of the homepage.
  • A clear relationship between dimensions, shapes, units and area.
  • Formula explanations that are easy to check instead of hidden behind a graphic.
  • Field-level validation for empty, zero, negative, invalid and unsafe values.
  • A fast, accessible interface that works naturally on a phone or desktop.
  • Honest separation between mathematical estimates and platform outcomes.

How to use a result responsibly

First, confirm that the amount and impression count refer to the same campaign, placement, reporting window and currency. Next, check whether the platform calls the relevant event an impression, a monetized playback, a viewable impression or another measure. Finally, compare CPM with the other metrics that matter for the decision, such as clicks, CTR, conversions, CPA, reach, frequency, viewability and profit.

When an estimate affects a budget or revenue expectation, reconcile it with the platform report, invoice, contract or publisher dashboard. Keep the source numbers and the calculation context so another person can reproduce the result.

A focused product with room to grow

The first release is an English homepage for the core square footage calculator. Other language versions and separate tools such as flooring, tile, paint, area conversion or room-size calculators can be added later as independent pages with their own formulas and search intent. They are intentionally not presented as unfinished destinations on this homepage.

The goal is simple: make common measurement math understandable, quick to verify and useful in the moment. Feedback about an unclear label, browser issue or calculation edge case helps improve the tool without turning it into an opaque estimating product.
